Does Praying Work?

Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

For the past couple of months I’ve been praying hard, and going back and forth with God. I have broken down in tears many of days. I’m writing this special blog to tell everyone, life is not easy all the time, but prayer is. Not only is it easy, but it works. About two weeks ago I was at work talking to a lady on the phone (I work at a call center). The lady name is Barbara, and I was selling Barbara a home warranty. At the end of the conversation Barbara said to me, I just want to let you know that whatever you been praying for its coming real soon. I wanted to make sure I was hearing her correctly, I was so thrown off completely. So I asked her if she could repeat herself. She stated again that you’ve been praying and asking God for something and he wants you to know it’s coming real soon. Tears began to fall down my face thinking about everything I’ve been going through internally. Thinking about everything I’ve been praying for. Thinking about all the conversation I’ve had with God. Thinking about everything I want to do in my life and for my family. Thinking about all times I thought God wasn’t hearing me. Thinking about all the times I thought God saw my pain but did nothing. I was blessed this week because I have a chance to work on something that I love to do. God showed me his grace this week and I will not let HIM down. Like I’ve told you before its consistent prayer, and nothing happens overnight. Everything I’ve been through prepared me for this blessing. Pray and believe in him, I promise it works. In many scriptures the Lord tells us to be strong and courageous, so whatever you’re going through be strong and courageous. He is preparing you for something AMAZING! Thank you father Amen.

Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

  1. I’m happy that God’s messenger, Barbara, has assured you that your prayers have been heard. Sometimes, the solution(s) we seek for our dilemma may not be the right one for us and those involved. Some situations require time, patience, and trust.

Your story reminded me of the time when I was awakened from sleep one night at the distant sound of someone’s name: Janice! At the time, I knew only one Janice, a colleague at work. I approached her the next day and told her of the incident. She told me that she had recently been diagnosed with cancer and had been praying to God for help and guidance. To my mind, God had used me to reassure her that everything would work out for the best for her and her family.

    Blessings ❤

  2. Amen. Prayer does change things and God does answer prayer. Don’t give up. Continue to press because God will never leave nor forsake you.
