So tonight we are having cheesy turkey and mushroom burgers with sweet potato fries. Everyday I try to eat more healthier. I been feeling umphy lately. So this recipe was very new to me, and fun to make. I am being inspired by my new cookbook, it’s called The Healthy Sheet Pan. Now the reason I used the word “inspired” is because I’m taking recipes from this book, but making some changes to them. I’m going to put some of me into all the recipes I do. Have you ever saw a recipe and thought to yourself “I think this would be so much better if I added this or that” or “I don’t eat that, what if I substitute it with something else”. Well, those are my thoughts most of the time. I feel like there’s always room for improvement when it comes to cooking. Sometimes I follow recipes from top to bottom, and it’s been disgusting, and sometimes they turn out great. But, I think its going to be fun breaking the rules. So back to the recipe. Your prep time will be about 10-15 minutes.

Ingredients:
2 sweat potatoes
1 tablespoon olive oil
½ teaspoon sea salt
1 tablespoon season salt
½ pound ground turkey
4 ounces white mushroom, minced
1 garlic clove, minced ( or you can buy already minced)
4 slices of Pepper Jack Cheese
½ extra sharp white cheddar, cubed
2 hamburger buns
All your favorite toppings when serving

So now I’m going to put everything together and make a great meal. First I cut up the sweat potatoes like French fries. Then placed the fries in some foil. Poured the olive oil on the fries and added my sea salt. Set that to the side. Next, I combined the ground turkey, mushrooms, season salt, black pepper, and extra sharp white cheddar together. After mixing all those ingredients together I portioned them into patties. I placed the patties into the foil. Finally, I put the fries and burgers in a pan, and into the oven. Once the turkey burgers were almost done, I placed 2 slices of pepper jack cheese on each patty. Put them back into the oven to melt the cheese. Then wow. Enjoy.
